The event regulations are an integral part of the contract between the organiser and participants. They set out the binding conditions of participation. The organiser reserves the right to amend these regulations at any time. The organiser has the final say on the interpretation of individual provisions.

Participation is at your own risk and responsibility. The organiser accepts no liability for health problems or accidents. Participants should be in good health. Persons suffering from fever or other symptoms of illness shortly before the race are advised to refrain from participating. In the event of contagious symptoms such as cough, fever or sore throat, it is strongly recommended that you do not participate in the race out of consideration for the health of all. - Insurance

Registrations by third parties are only permitted with their express consent. Group registrations (e.g. school classes or companies) can be made collectively online. Changes to groups can be made free of charge up to a specified date. Later changes can only be made for a fee or via the official timekeeper.
- Refunds and cancellations
There is no entitlement to a refund of the entry fee in the event of non-participation.
If the event is cancelled due to force majeure or official requirements, there is also no entitlement to a refund. In such cases, the organiser may offer goodwill arrangements (e.g. transfer to the following year, voucher). - Race number
The race number must be worn in a clearly visible position on the chest or stomach. This is the only way to ensure that the timing signal is recorded correctly.
Participants without a start number or with a lost or incorrect start number will not be classified. - Start number transfer / starter exchange
An exchange is only possible at the request of the person who is withdrawing. The details of the new person must be provided. The change must be made directly with the official timekeeper – this is not possible on site.
The following conditions must be met:- Same running distance
- Same gender
- Timekeeping
Timekeeping is carried out using a chip integrated into the start number. Only the net running time – i.e. the individual time between crossing the start and finish lines – will be counted. The order in which runners cross the finish line is not decisive for their ranking. To be ranked among the top three places (podium places), runners must cross the start line no later than 2 minutes after the official start signal. Otherwise, consideration for a podium place is excluded. - Start list
The start list can be viewed on the event website and is linked to the official timekeeper's website. - Rankings and results
Rankings and results can be viewed on the event website and are also linked directly to the timekeeper. - Awards
All participants will receive a gift. The winners of each category will receive prizes in kind. - Data protection and consent
- Participants agree to the use of image/video material for PR purposes by the organiser and third parties.
- By registering, participants consent to the publication of their name, place of residence, year of birth, start number and running time on start and ranking lists (printed and online).
- Personal data may be used for marketing purposes and passed on to partners.
- Anyone who wishes to object to this must notify info@baslerstadtlauf.ch in writing by email at least 14 days before the race.
- The data protection guidelines of the timekeeper Datasport also apply.
- Doping regulations
The doping guidelines of Swiss Olympic apply. By participating, all participants acknowledge:- the anti-doping rules of Swiss Olympic,
- the jurisdiction of the Disciplinary Commission for doping cases,
- the jurisdiction of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, to the exclusion of the ordinary courts.
- Sustainability and environmental behaviour
Participants are requested to dispose of waste in the designated bins and to show consideration for the environment and local residents. The organiser strives to make the event as sustainable as possible and asks all participants to behave in an environmentally conscious manner. - Changes and place of jurisdiction
The organiser reserves the right to make changes to these regulations. The place of jurisdiction for all disputes is Basel.
